People Science start-up releases ‘Faster Flourishing’ for HR teams to overcome frustrations with poor employee survey experiences

LONDON, UK.—SHAPE Global, the world’s most comprehensive system for employee flourishing, unveiled a ground-breaking innovation to enable faster flourishing.

While businesses have long recognised the importance of employee engagement and its link to productivity, efforts to scale and maintain both have been ineffective. In fact, only 23% of global workers are actively engaged at work, per Gallup’s 2023 State of the Global Workplace Report. Gallup estimates that this is an $8.8 trilllion problem and amounts to roughly 9% of the global GDP. According to SHAPE, this follows a long list of worrying revelations that are actually a flourishing deficit in disguise.

“The antidote to this deficit starts with looking beyond traditional employee engagement programs, said Gordon Watson, Chairman AXA Asia, and senior board advisor at SHAPE. “That’s what SHAPE has done, and the results can help every employee build a flourishing mindset, equip them with the tools to flourish faster, and ultimately enable the organisation to address its flourishing deficit.”

Flourishing means people reaching their full potential at work through the conditions that enable optimal performance, fulfilment and growth. SHAPE measures flourishing through ProScore, ushering in a new era of productivity at work. Developed from the ground-up, this highly sensitive scoring system scales to confidentially report individual and collective group flourishing.

SHAPE delivers faster flourishing through:
  • ProScore: measures the precise degree of flourishing, striving, and struggling among employees across 100+ topics providing instant and private reporting. The measurements are organised into the 12 areas most critical to performance at work and displayed as the Flourishing Wheel.
  • SHAPE Guidance: year-round motivational messages help every employee build a flourishing mindset. SHAPE has worked hard to find the balance between extrinsic motivation to begin, and ongoing intrinsic habit formation to ensure everyone can flourish for longer.
  • Precise Actions: SHAPE identifies precisely which actions distinctly increase each employee’s chance of flourishing by 2x, 3x… up to 10x faster. This reduces the friction from insight to action and enables every individual to understand, act, and succeed–ultimately, contributing to organisational flourishing through individual action.
  • SHAPE Insights: Regular, powerful insights exclusively for executive teams, provides novel insights supported by scientific rigour. These help drive strategy to address organisation-wide flourishing deficits.
In 2017, SHAPE began its investigation into engagement and productivity with organisational performance—the employee. SHAPE data confirmed that almost two thirds of companies measured weren’t flourishing—a significant barrier to productivity and peak performance.

“Through our work in employee experience and its link to productivity we’ve discovered that flourishing goes hand in hand with some of the most important business metrics today. From productivity and engagement to retention and resilience, flourishing consistently emerges as the common thread.” says Ali Khan, CEO at SHAPE Global.

“We know these are all high-priority issues, not just for executive teams, but also for managers grappling with them operationally, and employees feeling the brunt of the issues at ground level. We’re joining hands with organisations through our campaign, FFS. For Flourishing’s Sake is about SHAPE standing in solidarity to make survey experiences valuable and rewarding. With flourishing established as the centrepiece, we’re able to give everyone the single most important KPI to work towards. One that benefits employers and employees alike. It’s as simple as that.”

SHAPE proudly embraces the advocacy for flourishing through its brand. The new identity enables efficient communication of the many benefits of flourishing to all stakeholders. And given its central role in addressing some of the biggest business challenges of our times, SHAPE is finding common ground with ambassadors striving to establish flourishing globally.
